Professional Website Design

All successful websites project a degree of credibility. It is only by looking credible that they can hope to make an impression on the minds of website visitors. This is why professional website design is so eagerly sought after by prospective website owners. A design that looks profession looks credible. This is because it the kind of design that doesn’t choose to hide information from the website visitors. It comes across as being very upfront and very truthful about what it is trying to say and the kind of impression that it wants to convey.

Website visitors usually like a website that tells it like it is and doesn’t beat round the bush by displaying irrelevant images that don’t make much sense. The focus of professional web design is on the use of relevant images and design elements that enhance and encourage the website visitors to build a positive perception with respect to the products, services or information on the site.

At the end of the day, the purpose of any website is to deliver a message and it can only do so if it looks professional. But, this message also needs to be absorbed by the website visitors. This will only be possible if the message looks credible.

Is Flash Website design all that it is cracked up to be?

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

No two ways about it? Flash website design looks good, very good. But only if it is done right! If you want a design that absolutely must impress your visitors, then you must choose flash website design.

The thing about Flash animation is that it instantly captivates the viewer. It’s visually compelling and creates the necessary visual impact. If the flash website design is interesting and unique, your visitors are going to spend some time on your website, checking it out.

But does it really work?

Say you are selling some products and services. Do visitors to your site, look at your flash website design and say to themselves, “I want to buy some products from this site.” Chances are that they don’t. This is because just flash alone isn’t going to help sell your products and services.  Flash is all well and good, but your site should be able to focus visitor attention on what you want to sell.  The flash website design should be such that it offers the necessary push to your customers in terms of buying a product.

Flash is only useful if you make intelligent use of it and more importantly only use it, if you absolutely need to use it. So now we have an answer. Yes, it is all that it is cracked up to be but only if it can be used to convey your message. If it’s just there as a purely visual component, it’s not going to work. So the bottom line is – Don’t use Flash just for the heck of it. Use it only if you need it.

A small introduction to Web design

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

Although Web design covers a large amount of trades and practices, if we stick to its original definition, it is so … well design drawing.

Drawing, yes, but applied to the very specific dimension of the web, with its own constraints, its codes, its modes of representation, all this at the service relationship that is sought to establish with visitors from backgrounds as diverse and varied, visitors will never know which one or the face or social profile.

Web design says that is a set of technical procedures is commonplace. Recall that the Web design is primarily an act of artistic creation is perhaps worthwhile to look for what can sometimes be found on the web!

However, if the web design must be considered an aesthetic approach, this is not the aesthetic itself which will take over during the web application development of a website project. We noted earlier that the goal was to establish a relationship with visitors and that is what it is: through a combination of graphic elements designed to provide a pleasant visual experience, visitors must be able to know as soon as possible if they are in the right place to find what they want.

Therefore the challenge of creating a website far beyond the mere aesthetic concern because a user who is seeking information, product or service will not take a moment to admire a site “pretty” on which it will not find what he hopes to find.

So, by extension and beyond the hardcore graphics, webdesign will also focus on how people perceive a web page to how useful the information will be distributed on this page, how which visitors can move within the site as smoothly as possible … and this is an enormous task!

For if you do not want in your neighborhood between ten different bakeries, web, internet are faced with an almost infinite choice of possibilities and one click without hesitation may be enough to send a website to oblivion!

Observe yourself how and why you are selected (e) or repelled (e) a site or another, take time to notice what attracts you or repels you, what makes you feel at the comfortable or not on that site or another – not to mention the very purpose of the site in question – and you already understand many things about web design.

You will understand if a particular site was well thought out or not, you understand (or not!) What was done to provoke such a reaction from you or another, to lead you to do such gesture or another and so more …
